कोरोना काल में संक्रमण से बचने के लिए कई तरह की दवाइयों की मांग में तेजी से बढ़ोतरी देखने को मिली है। विशेषकर कोरोना की दूसरी लहर में, इसकी गंभीरता को देखते हुए लोगों ने कई तरह की एंटीबायोटिक दवाइयों का खुद से भी सेवन करना शुरू कर दिया है। इसी संबंध में हाल ही में प्रकाशित एक अध्ययन में विशेषज्ञों ने लोगों को आने वाले समय में बड़ी मुसीबत को लेकर चेताया है। विशेषज्ञों ने बताया है कि कोरोना के समय में कई तरह की शक्तिशाली एंटीबायोटिक दवाओं के अत्यधिक उपयोग के कारण भारत में एक नए तरह के सुपरबग ने जन्म लिया है। एंटीबायोटिक दवाओं के बहुत ज्यादा इस्तेमाल के कारण देश में बैक्टीरियल और फंगल संक्रमणों का खतरा अधिक बढ़ गया है। इसका मुख्य कारण एंटीबायोटिक रेजिस्टेंस बताया जा रहा है।
